Queen Ahmose was an ancient Egyptian queen who lived during the 16th century BCE, during the New Kingdom period. She was the sister and wife of Pharaoh Kamose and the mother of Pharaoh Ahmose I. She played an important role in the political and military efforts that led to the expulsion of the Hyksos, a group of foreign rulers who had occupied Lower Egypt for more than a century. She was also known for her piety and devotion to the goddesses Hathor and Mut. Queen Ahmose was buried in the Valley of the Kings, in a tomb known as KV25. Her mummy was found among those of other royal family members in 1881 and is now housed in the Cairo Museum.
